Position
As Business Development Manager – MAT, you will be responsible for driving the international commercial growth of Essange’s MAT portfolio. Your primary focus is identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing role where you take ownership of the full commercial cycle; from prospecting and opening doors to negotiating agreements and developing long-term strategic partnerships. You are comfortable creating opportunities from scratch and know how to convert scientific interest into commercial success.
Working closely with pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors and key industry stakeholders, you build strong relationships and position MAT as an innovative solution within a rapidly evolving market. You understand customer needs, navigate complex buying processes and drive opportunities through to successful implementation and long-term account growth.
As MAT adoption continues to accelerate globally due to evolving regulations and the transition towards animal-free pyrogen testing, you will play a key role in expanding Essange’s international footprint and supporting the company’s ambitious growth objectives.
With this being a newly created role, you will have significant freedom and responsibility to shape the commercial strategy, build new business and make a direct impact on the future success of the organisation.
Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Immunology or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, strategic sales or commercial account growth within pharma, biotech or diagnostics.
- Proven track record in generating new business and managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
- Experience developing strategic customer relationships and growing recurring revenue.
- Strong commercial mindset combined with scientific credibility.
- Established network within the pharmaceutical and/or IVD industry is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English and willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
