Position

As Commercial Marketing Manager Diagnostics you will take the lead in developing and executing the global marketing strategy of Essange. In this newly created and high-impact role, you will build the marketing function, lead two Product Managers, and function as a strategic partner to Sales, Product Management, and senior leadership.

Your mission is to translate complex diagnostic products into compelling commercial messaging and hands-on marketing activities that drive visibility, lead generation, and revenue growth. You will shape multi-channel plans, ranging from international conferences and digital campaigns to webinars, sales tools, website optimisation, and global product launches, while managing and allocating the marketing budget.

A key focus of the role is to strengthen the market presence of underrepresented products, actively generate new high-value, high-quality leads, and drive impactful go-to-market strategies for upcoming launches. You will work closely with distributors and OEM partners to ensure Essange’s solutions reach the right audiences with a clear, differentiated value proposition that supports commercial success.

As the first dedicated marketing leader within the commercial organisation, you will not inherit a ready-made system, you will build one. This role offers real ownership: bringing structure, discipline, and direction to marketing, developing pipeline, creating market visibility, and directly contributing to business growth in a fast-moving, science-driven environment.

Profile
  • bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in business development, product/portfolio marketing, or commercial strategy
  • background in diagnostics / IVD / immunology with a proven track record in commercial B2B marketing
  • strong experience with go-to-market strategies, product launches, and developing commercial channels (incl. distributors and OEM partners)
  • demonstrated leadership experience, ideally managing or coaching a small team
  • proven ability to drive revenue growth through pricing, negotiation, value selling, and pipeline discipline
  • comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving environment, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution
  • excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus) and willingness to work on-site and travel internationally
  • hands-on, proactive, optimistic, and result-driven (“get things done”)

Since separating from Sanquin, the organisation has entered a new phase of commercial expansion, with an evolving product portfolio and a rapidly growing international customer base. With distribution in more than 35 countries and several new product launches ahead, Essange is positioned for substantial growth.
