Position

As Technical Commercial Specialist MAT, you operate at the heart of Essange’s global MAT strategy. You are responsible for guiding pharmaceutical and diagnostic customers through the technical, regulatory and commercial adoption of the Monocyte Activation Test (MAT), from first engagement through to successful implementation. This is a highly complex, hands-on role that combines technical sales, scientific consultancy, project coordination and strategic market development.

You work closely with customers to understand their pyrogen testing challenges and translate these into tailored MAT solutions that meet pharmacopeial and regulatory requirements. At the same time, you act as the internal connector, aligning sales, marketing, manufacturing, R&D and quality teams to ensure smooth execution of customer projects. A significant part of the role involves managing internal processes, coordinating specialists and keeping multiple workstreams moving in parallel.

Operating in an international context, you engage with both B2B and B2C customers worldwide and represent Essange at customer sites, industry events and international conferences. You play an active role in contract discussions, negotiations and long-term account development, using your scientific credibility and industry network to build trust at senior customer levels.

As MAT adoption accelerates in Europe and gains momentum globally, you contribute to shaping Essange’s commercial approach in different regions, translating market developments into actionable insights. With this being a newly created role, you have substantial freedom to define ways of working, influence strategy and make a direct impact on the company’s international growth. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys ownership, complexity and working at the intersection of science, commerce and strategy.

Profile

• bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Analytical Sciences, (Bio)Medical Sciences or a related field;
• strong scientific background in cell-based assays, immunology or closely related technologies;
• experience working with pharmaceutical manufacturers (e.g. biologics, monoclonal antibodies or vaccines);
• minimum of 8 years’ experience in technical sales;
• proven experience with contracts, negotiations and complex stakeholder management;
• established network within the pharmaceutical and/or IVD industry;
• experience with project management and customer implementation processes;
• ability to operate hands-on in a technically complex product environment;
• excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is an advantage;
• willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis and work from the Amsterdam office when not travelling.
