Position

As Process Engineer you report to the Technology Centre AH Engineering Director, and you will be responsible for the engineering design of either one or more of the above mentioned disciplines.

As part of a matrix organisation, you will collaborate with a diverse group of seasoned engineers hailing from various disciplines: process, mechanical, HVAC, civil, and commissioning & qualification engineers. You will also be working alongside end-users, as well as with Delivery colleagues who will provide support in the form of Project Managers, Project Engineers, Cost Controllers, Schedulers, and Estimators. Collaborating with external design partners will be a key aspect of your role as you strive to achieve designs that are not only cost-effective but also align with our design intent. You will be tasked with overseeing interesting projects across a broad spectrum, adopting an end-to-end approach that encompasses front-end loading, execution, commissioning & qualification, handover, and post-handover activities.

You will act as a subject matter expert (SME) in one or more of the aforementioned disciplines in their capital investment projects. You build and maintain close collaborations with GES and end-user SME’s. You will develop and maintain relationships with design and construction partners. You will review design from our design partners and ensure the designs meet their engineering and safety standards and follow our procedures, best practices and design guides. And of course, you will actively support standardization and fit-for-purpose principles.

 

Profile

  • BSc. or MSc. degree in (Bio)Pharmaceutical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and High-Tech industries as a Design Engineer in capital projects in one or more of the disciplines mentioned above
  • familiarity with EudraLex Volume 4 Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines, EU GMP Annex 1, EHEDG, and ISPE guidelines
  • high-level insight into construction processes of pharmaceutical facilities and equipment integration in buildings
  • excellent English language skills, knowledge of Dutch and German preferred
  • willingness to travel in Europe for project assignments (20% minimum)

 

Organisation

Our client develops and produces vaccines and pharmaceutical specialties for livestock, companion animals and fish. They have offices in more than 50 countries, 25 production sites and sell their products in over 150 markets and operate in a network of manufacturing sites and research and development facilities around the world. With more than 300 employees worldwide, the Global Engineering Solutions (GES) division is responsible for managing investment capital and designing and executing capital projects for their global organisation. GES is organized in a Technology organisation (responsible for the design of projects), a Delivery organisation (responsible for the realization of projects) and a Project and Business Support organisation. The Technology Center for their Animal Health organisation consists of approximately 20-25 employees and has its home base in Boxmeer, The Netherlands.

To strengthen their Technology Center, they have job opportunities under temporary contracts at their GES Technology Center for Animal Health (AH) in Boxmeer and are looking to hire (Senior) Specialists in Process Engineering as per one or more disciplines in the following profiles:

  1. biopharmaceutical systems (upstream and/or downstream systems, e.g. bioreactors, incubators, centrifuges, separation systems, and other)
  2. core manufacturing systems (such as filling and freeze-drying systems, and other)
  3. manufacturing support systems (e.g. sterilizers, parts washers, cleaning-in-place systems, effluent decontamination systems, and other)
  4. clean utility systems (e.g. pure steam, water for injection, purified water, clean gases)
