The imposing Abbott Healthcare Products B.V. premises in Weesp contain three plants of which two for chemical APIs (Abbott Healthcare Products B.V.) and the other for influenza vaccine (Abbot Biologicals B.V.) in bulk. Due to an internal promotion the Therapeutic Area Cardio Metabolic & CNS / Clinical Development is looking for a motivated and communicative Sr. Director Clinical Development.
Position
As the Sr. Director Clinical Development you contribute to the development strategy for the assigned product in order to achieve successfully registration of commercially viable products and Improved Therapeutic Benefits (ITB). You also are responsible for the clinical development strategy of the Cardio Metabolic & CNS and you provide updated and competitive medical and scientific expertise, set the goals and deliverables that are in line with regulatory requirements, medical practice, business environment and latest scientific findings.
You lead and manage the clinical development team to ensure successful, timely and quality completion of the development program (phase II-IV). You contribute to obtain registration and market access, and to optimize the brand value during the entire life cycle, in partnership with key stakeholders from both strategic and day to day operational perspective. You prepare clinical development plans and related documents in accordance to defined global clinical development strategy in order to prepare a roadmap. As a clinical development representative you give input, to the assigned Brand Teams, to ensure strategic, scientific, medical and ethical alignment for all products. Provide clinical leadership in brand related medical input to Therapeutic Area strategy through participation in the Brand Teams.
You will lead preparation and review of clinical deliverables, up to the submission to approval bodies. Besides that, you provide clinical leadership in interaction with external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders, advisory boards, patient advocacy groups), internal stakeholders and internal decision boards.

Profile

MD or PhD;

5-8 years of experience in a position within pharmaceutical industry overseeing clinical development of a products /compounds within the target TA;

Prior history with post marketing/brand optimization studies to obtain evidence of brand value and support commercialization activities preferred;

Good communication and consultancy skills, decisive, hands on mentality, strong interpersonal skills;

Good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
